Dag 7 : Muur

And this image popped into my head today, so I tried my best. The riots are real, lots of protest against wrong electricity bills. The library, police station, and a few other places were burnt down, most of the shops

Thing a Day 7

The Duck in Black reaches the top of the cliff. Inigo: I do not mean to pry, but you don’t by any chance happen to have six feathers on your right wing? Duck in Black: Do you always begin conversations

Thing 6

Thing 6 was more about putting the creativity out there to share with others. There was a local artists fair here on Isla Mujeres and it was my first time to participate. Thanks to everyone who supported me with purchases

TAD Day 7:Scissor fob

Quick and early project this morning since I’m headed straight from work to Lancaster, PA for an early class Saturday morning. I didn’t have a clasp in the house large enough to fit the handles, so I added a key

Day 6: Cross-stitch

So, one of the issues that I have been having coming up with anything to work on this month, is the fact that I have a limited amount of money to live off of for the foreseeable future and, therefore,

Day 6 – Kombucha

A break from Robotics today.  Today I made a batch of Kombucha, a fermented drink made from tea and a mushroom/fungus called the “SCOBY” (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast) and is also known as the “Mother”. I use the

Day 6 – working at home

This is my work table right now. Can you spot my helper? My favorite kind of job besides working on my own stuff is to work for other crafters. Here you can see the tea towels I iron to set

TAD Day 6–pages in a book

Last year and this I am working on a navigation book that transcends time and place. These pages like the movie, Adjustment Bureau, show possibility. So here is a few possibilities.

Day 6: Cardboard Star

I made this star out of the cardboard from a cereal box. I may paint it gold or stick some sparkles to it later.

Day Six: “Year of the Horse(s), 100th Day T-shirts, and a Nice Fire”

So, the children woke today to find the deer and the alicorns from last night, followed by shrieks of delight.  I had found also the Year of the Horse project (http://papermodel.jp/eto.html), which they couldn’t wait to try themselves after school.

Day 5&6: Snowflake Towels

Inspired by the 1/2 inch of snow that shut us down (the joy of living in the South), I cross-stitched blue snowflakes on two white towels. Unfortunately I failed to abide by “measure twice, cut once” and failed to make

Today I took a break from watercolor and did something I haven’t done since I was 5 years old; potato painting! I used sweet potatoes and acrylic paint for this and I love the effect, especially with black paint. I

TAD Day 6: Felt ornament

It seems each year, there is something that looks so much better in person than I can capture in a photograph.  I’m actually pretty happy with how this looks, and could see doing more of them.  They are about 3

Day 6 – More with the cat faces

I rubbed some color onto the dried Paperclay cat faces. (I used eyeshadow.) It really highlights how deformed the mold got when I pressed the clay into it. New molds are on the agenda.
