TAD 2014 – Day 26
Woo Hoo! I actually accomplished (and photographed) something! Unfortunately, I am going to need to rework the clasp a little, but it’s almost there. The largest beads were part of a necklace that had belonged to my grandmother, but it

Day 24 – apply to shows
Ugh – I had a very bad habit the last couple of days (okay, four) of doing something I knew I was going to upload to thing-a-day and then not uploading it. So, in a marathon of uploading, in reverse

TAD Day 18: Nest necklace
I was able to get this done earlier today as I waited for the snow to clear the roads before I left for work. These would be cute to make for friends with kids. If I do it again, I

TAD Day 16: Braided beaded bracelet
I’m normally happier when I work on craft projects that don’t require such small work, but I do have a box full of beads and findings that I pull out and play with every once in a while. I also

This is my sink. You can see all of it. This was not the case earlier today and has not been for some days. If I accomplished nothing else today, this would be enough. However, I did do other things. In

Day 7: Glass Loop Necklace
I just made a quick thing today. It’s these glass loopy things I bought from Michaels tied together with waxed cord to make a necklace.

Thing-A-Day 2014 Day 5: Bauble Ring
Our Christmas crackers from last year had these little wires with golden baubles on each end wrapped around them and I thought they were neat, so I saved them. Well, I was looking at the bauble wires today and I

Day 4: Woven Metal Bracelet
I need to find a mannequin arm or something for displaying bracelets.

Day 3: Twisted Metal Bracelet
This was a really simple bracelet to make. All I had to do was thread some wire through some beads, twist the wire around and then untwist it.

Day 27 – Tiny earrings
I’ve been making lots of spiral beads for the past few days, but I haven’t been posting them. As TAD is winding to a close, I thought I should do something new. This is a pair of very small earrings.

For Thing 27, I made some mosaic pendants using freshwater pearls, shells, vintage Czech seed beads and sand. I love making these pendants! I also am working on the idea of using a shell as a frame and have included

Day 24 – More beaded beads
One show down, and I got my first acceptance of the season, so let the inventory-building begin. During show season, I always feel like I’m on the verge of not having enough stuff, so this year I’ve set goals

Day 23: Yet Another Bracelet
I made yet another bracelet. This one has green beads.

Day 22: Another Bracelet
I’m not really sure that these metallic doodads count as beads, but I’m using them to make bracelets anyway.

Day 22 ~ Glass Fused Pendant #2
Another glass fused pendant. Really enjoying this :)

TAD 22: Earrings for knitters
I need to work on my yarn wrapping, but these have potential.

Day 21: Bracelet
I have a lot of beads lying about, so I made a bracelet.

Day 21 ~ Fused Glass Pendant
After a few failed attempts at creating an opening through the layers of glass, I’ve finally succeeded at my first fused glass pendant.

Day 19 – A Pair and a Half
I got one pair of earrings done and then pooped out before I got the second earring of the second pair started. [Scarlett] I’ll think about it tomorrow! Tomorrow is another day! [/Scarlett]

Day 18: Paper Clip Ring
Yes! With just two minutes of time, a pair of pliers and a paper clip, you too can have a beautiful piece of jewelry.

Day 18 – Beaded Bezel
I really hate doing open-backed beaded bezels. I probably wouldn’t hate them so much if I worked with things that were regular in shape, but these pieces of glass never are. Nonetheless, this one cried out for an open-backed bezel.

Day 17 – Emerald Pendant
Back to the Pantone “Color of the Year” – emerald. The photos don’t do justice to the piece of glass. It has a some opalescence that is very hard to capture. This one is about 2″ long.

Day 16 – Itty-bitty Pendant 2
I tried a different approach with this pendant. The piece of glass I used is the triangular one in the middle of the grouping. It’s about an inch on its longest side. I wanted more of a cage effect

Thing 10
Thing 10 is not a finished thing but rather a started thing. Eventually it will be a necklace mixing polymer clay, coral, seed beads and other ingredients yet to be determined. Hopefully that will be soon. In the meantime, I

TAD 9: Earrings
I love jewelry, but I do not enjoy making it. I always forget that though. I think it is good to push out of your comfort zone once in a while, but I was glad when these were finished

Day 5: Little Black Clouds
