11: Dress

Today I made some straps for a dress I’m altering.

The Story

Once there was a beautiful young woman. She was the youngest of a large family, and so was seen as the perpetual  child. She grew up, became a ballerina, wrote Gothic horror, and fell into a bad relationship. Because of her sheltering, she didn’t see the warning signs it was a bad relationship, but because of her writing, she recognized it for what it was once she was in it. She fought her way out, and for many years, she kept herself clear of all emotional connections. Over time, with the help of her family, she recovered her balance, but by that time, she had forgotten how to make friends. It was a lonely time. Then one day, just after Thanksgiving, someone appeared. He had been there for years, but she only now saw him. He was patient with her, and restrained, and took every care in making her feel safe and secure and happy. They fell in love, and a whirlwind courtship ensued. In four weeks, they will be married. This is her wedding dress.  It is as beautiful and unusual as she is. May it herald the start of a wonderful relationship.
