TAD Day 23: Wool slippers

Inspired by Spangler2’s moccasins from earlier this month, I set out to find a way to make some slippers. I don’t have sheets of leather to use, but I do have a large moth-eaten wool cape that I felted a few years ago since it was too holey to use as a garment any more.

In full disclosure, this project did not turn out well in person.  This photo somehow blurred out most of the choppiness and bad stitching (which is why I selected it rather than some of the other ones that are truer). Plus, the ribbon embellishment is testament to one of my favorite sayings: “It’s not a mistake it’s a design element”.  I’m calling this one a learning experience as I’ve never tried making anything shoe-like before.

About alookatthelittlethings

I completed a 365 year of making challenge in 2015 and decided to see how long I could keep it going. I jump around from craft to craft, but trying new things is what keeps life interesting.

  1. They do look good. Do they fit? If so – success! If not – successful gift!
