Day 1 – Silicon Mold

I found an Instructable on make molds from silicon caulk, using dishwashing liquid as the catalyst.  The first photo is the three objects I decided to make molds of. The bisque cat face was my inspiration (I have a jewelry project I want to use it for), but it’s pretty big, so I thought I’d try making smaller cat face molds from a couple of the gazillion cat figurines I have.

Tomorrow’s TAD will probably be using the molds with a couple of different materials and seeing what kind of results I get.

About bebopbeads

I fell in love with freeform beading after many years of dabbling with all manner of media. My fascination with seed beads goes back to my childhood. My mom, a Cub Scout den mother, started me on a bead loom when I was about 8, so coming back to seed beads was like coming home. You can find more of my work at http://bebopbeads.artfire.com
