Optimist or realist?

Away and on the other side of Esme and Percival, there lived Horace and his own true boon companion, Cecilia. Horace had rather counted on Esme, in much the same way that Cecilia had counted on Percival. Horace remained optimistic and devoted. Cecilia saw straight through that Dulcie creature.
