Day 6

Monday are very busy here. First of all, girls have to deployed to school on time, and that is a very big achievement after a weekend. Second, boys have play dates with little buddies.  Today, I managed to make my signature chocolate chip, oat and walnuts cookies, but I didn’t have a chance to take a photo of that project…too many hungry munchkins. Also Oliver requested a play dough, so play dough day we had .

I made 4 different colors of play dough. I love to use recipe from ‘Mudworks’ by MaryAnn F. Kohl . I like also add a bit of especial oils, lemongrass of peppermint, that usually prevents little people form eating eat :) and makes house smell really nice, which sort of helps balance the mess.

Yes, there was a lot of play dough creations today. Amelie decided to call it her project for today- Fantastic Play Dough Foods .

Here is the recipe :

Quick Modeling Dough  from MaryAnn f. Kohl ‘Mudworks’
Materials:
1 cup cold water
1 cup salt
2 teaspoons oil
3 cups flour
2 tablespoons cornstarch
powdered paint or food coloring
Process:
1.Mix water, salt, oil, powdered paint/food coloring.
2. Gradually add flour, cornstarch, till the whole mixture looks like bread dough.
3.Knead few minutes.
4.Explore dough freely :) .
Store in air tight container for several weeks. If dough gets too mushy add some flour, if it is too hard knead for a while with wet hands.
