Orchid Brush Painting

Here’s what I learned today.  Using the “good” paper is even harder than the cheap newsprint.  You have to move faster and yet be very controlled, or else it bleeds  – a lot!

After an hour of practicing the movements for the orchid, (the second Gentleman) this afternoon, I decided to try it on rice paper.  I’ve been working on the leaves and the blossoms, but am not sure how to do the stems yet.

I know you know that you are just beginning, but these paintings have a delightful charm and lightness.

  2. It’s wonderful.

Funny, usually, when you move to the “good” stuff, you say, “Wow! It’s so much easier / better”
